Standard Product Costing

Standard Product Costing is used to enter record of materials used in production. The record of finished products, record of raw materials used in production and record of scrap generated during the production can be entered from Standard Product Costing. To enter these records select menu option Standard Product Costing under main menu heading Inventory Control .
When Standard Product Costing window will be displayed it will be disabled you can not make changes in records. You can see only already existing records of products by Data Control and can search records by Find Method discussed below.
To add new record press command button Add Record, it will be replaced with the name Update Record . Now all related fields will become empty for entering new record of finished product, raw materials used and scrap generated. Select the name of product which has to be prepared from command button Product List under heading Product Details. The Product Selection List will be displayed.
To select the raw material press command button Product List given in front of the heading Raw Material used in production of above Item . Product Selection List will be displayed. You can enter quantities of products have to be used in production. According to rates the amount will be calculated automatically.
To select the description and quantity of scrap products can be generated during the production press command button Product List given in front of the heading Scrap generated during the production from above material . You can select scrap product Description. and quantity from Product Selection List easily. According to rates the amount will be calculated automatically. If scrap is reusable then in the last column of grid named Reusable you can press keyboard key y . It will be -1 to represent that it is reusable scrap.
According to the amount of raw material used and scrap generated the Material Cost per Unit will be calculated and Total Cost per Unit will be the addition of Material Cost per Unit and Other Costs.
To prepare materiel issue and material receipt notes automatically after selling of product according to earlier prepared product costing tick the check box Based on this costing system prepare material issue and material receipt notes automatically on SALES INVOICE !!. You can see these prepared issue and receipt notes from Material Transaction Book.
You can also prepare such memos automatically instead when Finished goods receipt memos are prepared. To prepare material issue and material receipt notes automatically after selling of product according to earlier prepared product costing tick the check box Based on this costing system prepare material issue and material receipt notes automatically on FINISHED GOODS RECEIPT MEMO !!. You can see these prepared issue and receipt notes from Material Transaction Book.
The above two are two convenient methods that can be used instead of making actual issue and receipt memos for material.
After adding product costing record press command button Update Record. A message will be displayed " Do you want to save the current Record ? ", press Yes to save the entered record or if you do not want to save then press No .
Finding Records From Standard Product Costing :

To search any record from this window you have to use the command buttons named Find First, Find Next, Find Previous and Find Last . There is only one searching criteria named Description . Enter the description of product which is produced in the text box given with the option button Description , click this option button and press command button Find First . The desired product will be displayed. If the product is not present the message will be displayed " Product Not Found ". Press Ok and try again for a right product description. If there is more than one products are available with the same description in the record then after Find First press another command button Find Next. Press command button Find Previous to find previous record matching the description. Press command button Find Last to see last record matching the description.
As you press these buttons the information displayed in text boxes bound to Product Costing Data Control will be changed.
Editing Records From Standard Product Costing :
To edit any existing record first search it by Data Control or by Finding Method. Press command button Edit Record which will be replaced with the heading Update Record . The window will be enabled so that you can make changes as you like. After making changes press command button Update Record . A message will be displayed " Do you want to save the current Record ? ", press Yes to save the entered record or if you do not want to save then press No . The window will be disabled again.
Deleting Records From Standard Product Costing :
To delete any existing record first search it by Data Control or by Finding Method. Press command button Delete Current Record. A message will be displayed " Delete Current Record ?", press Yes to delete the record or if you do not want to delete then press No .
