To add new material for job work give Menu Command Material Record - Labour Basis . A window will be displayed for Material Record Entry. The various details about the material like category, description, group, location, price, stock etc. can be typed in the appropriate text boxes which are labeled accordingly. These data fields or text boxes are bound to the Data Control linked to material information database. As you will click one of the four buttons on the data control you will see the text displayed in the bound text boxes change accordingly.
To add new material record press command button Add on the Data Command Button Group, The various data fields of the material record will become empty so that you can enter a new record. Select the category of product by clicking one of the option buttons named Raw material or Finished Product or Scrap as per the case. A new unique code will be selected and be displayed in the Code field. Code should be unique and it must be given. Giving No code will not be allowed. However, codes are optional to use, if you don't intend to use codes then let the computer decide the codes for you automatically.
Now you can start typing the appropriate information in the text boxes. To move from one text box / field to another use Tab and Shift Tab keys on the keyboard or use mouse.
Enter the name of material in the text box given with the heading Description. Select the group of entered product from drop down list box of the group names. When you will click on name of group in the list it will be automatically displayed in the text box. If the group of entered product is not available in the drop down list of groups then you can type the group name in text box, this group name will be added to the list.
You can select or enter the Unit and Location of newly entered material by the same procedure as the group selection discussed above.
The other information like cost price: the price at which the goods are bought; Sales Prices and MRP can be entered along with its current stock position. Stock value will be calculated at the cost price.
To save your record automatically Tick check box Save All Changes Automatically. If you have not done so you will get following message : " COMMIT CHANGES ?". If you want to save the record then answer Yes to the above message.
To add another record again press command button Add . To close product record press command button Close.
Deleting Material Records :
To delete any material record Scroll through the data control to find record of the material to be deleted. You can also use of the Find Method to get the desired material record displayed before you delete it. Once the record you want to delete is displayed then press command button Delete Record. You will get a message to confirm that " Delete Current Record ?". Answer "yes" to delete the record.
If a product name is deleted from the Product Database it is not automatically deleted from the Ledger.
Be careful while deleting the records. Deleting record can not be undone.
